The Val Grande National Park is a protected natural area within the borders of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province in Piedmont, established in 1992 to preserve the largest wilderness area in the Alps and Italy.
The large expanse of land devoid of human settlements, the characteristics of the landscapes and the panorama offered by the Lepontine Alps make the park a popular destination for nature lovers and trekkers.
Within the park are the Val Grande Nature Reserve and the Monte Mottac Nature Reserve, both established in 1971.
The park is managed by the Val Grande National Park Authority, headquartered in Vogogna.
