Identified as a Cedar of Lebanon, it seems to belong to the Atlantic species instead. The genus, which is part of the Pinaceae family, is native to Africa and Asia, from which it was introduced for ornamental and reforestation purposes, being a rustic species, adaptable even to the driest climates. The grandeur of the imposing tree, characterised by a large canopy with wide horizontal branches and a column-shaped trunk, is emphasised by the presence of the historical building and the grounds in front of it, where the tree stands.
