The Piedimulera Horse Chestnut is a splendid representative of its species. It stands 25 m high and has a harmonious shape with a trunk circumference of 4.7 metres. Its canopy is thick and rounded and has not suffered any type of mutilation over the years. The horse chestnut tree was probably planted in the second half of the 19th century, as shown by some photos and postcards. In 1912, in their guidebook "La Valle Anzasca e il Monte Rosa", Vittorio D'Avino and Angelo Grossetti described the beauty of the view from the main square of Cimamulera, with a photograph of the Church of S. Antonio Abate with the tree next to it. Its integrity suggests that it will still be around for many, many years to come.
