Not only has Piedmont the record of castles, with more than 500 counted, but it is also the land of villages. In fact, 20 of the most beautiful villages of Italy are located right in our region.
They are scattered across the territory. In the province of Alessandria, there are 4: Cella Monte, Garbagna, Vho, and Volpedo; in the province of Asti, 3: Cocconato, Mombaldone, and Castagnole Lanze; in the province of Biella, 2: the Ricetto of Candelo and the mysterious village of Rosazza.
In the province of Cuneo there are Barolo, Chianale, Garessio, Guarene, Neive, Monforte d’Alba and Ostana; in the province of Novara we find Orta San Giulio, while in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola there is Vogogna. In the province of Turin, there are Ingria and Usseaux.
