There is a villa in Torino that Dario Argento chose as the location to shoot some of the most important and decisive scenes of his film Profondo Rosso (1975).
The house, whose real name is Scott (and not the villa of the screaming child as it is called in the film) is located in Corso Giovanni Lanza 57 in Borgo Po.
It took the name of the owner Alfonso Scott, and was designed in Art Nouveau style by the architect Fenoglio in 1902.
On the death of the owner, the villa became for a few years a female college run by the Sisters of the Redemption and finally it was privately purchased.
The interior scenes of the film were actually shot inside the house and not rebuilt in the studios as one might think. Perhaps this is why even today, if you stop to admire it, you can be surprised by the halo of mystery and darkness that surrounds the house.
