On the first Sunday in February, since ancient times, "Fòra l'ours" (out the bear) is held in Urbiano, a hamlet of Mompantero, in the province of Turin.
Tradition has it that a bear is caught by hunters, tied up and brought in chains to the town square. Along the way, the bear howls, wiggles, as hunters offer him wine in a large funnel. On the square, however, the bear will begin to dance with the most beautiful girl in the village and, as if by magic, become tame.
The bear is obviously a man, whose identity must remain secret, dressed in goat skins, sewn with wire.
