Accessible on foot or by ski lifts from Bardonecchia, or along the military road from Savoulx.
The battery was constructed in a dominant position to defend the hills of the Bardonecchia basin, while, at the same time, allowing objects beyond the border to be struck. It was among the highest structures in the Alpi Occidentali. The armament comprised eight 149 mm cannons. Defence was ensured by walls, which were equipped with embrasures and stands for riflemen. Barracks for troops and logistics buildings were found inside, as well as evidence of a gunpowder magazine. The entryway is particularly notable. Built in a Medieval style, this was severely damaged, yet still displays two traces of crenellated towers with central portals, bringing to mind the shape of a stylised castle.
