Built around the XI century, the Piea Castle (Castello di Piea) has undergone numerous transformations over the centuries: from a fortress, it became a noble structure, losing its bastions at the beginning of the 18th century as requested by the Counts of Roero. The frescoes in the arches of the Dance Hall, in the Gallery, and in the adjoining rooms created by the Galliari brothers around 1762 are of notable artistic importance. After the creation of an Italian style garden, an imposing spiral staircase took shape on the east side in 1850 and a small Neo-gothic chapel was connected.
