Built during the Middle Ages, the Castello (Castle) di Molare has, over the centuries, undergone many changes. The last intervention, overseen by Alfredo d’Andrade, the Portuguese architect and director at the time of the Ufficio Regionale per i Monumenti di Piemonte, Liguria, e Valle d’Aosta (Regional Office for the Monunments of Piemonte, Liguria, and Valle d’Aosta), goes back to the end of the 1800’s. Today, the Castello di Chiabrera looks like a Gothicesque medieval structure, surrounded by high walls in stone and brick and dominated by a round tower. Several works by the painter Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo are located inside the castle.
