In Bra, right in the middle of the historic center, by following the entire porticato (colonnade) dell’Ala, one arrives at the church consecrated to Santa Maria degli Angeli (Saint Mary of the Angels). The building, an elliptical floor plan with six lateral altars, has two interesting frescos inside by the painter from Bra, Pietro Paolo Operti. Built in the mid 16th century, it was requisitioned by the Savoy who turned it into a warehouse, then an arms and a salt depot. The long period of degradation ended only in the first years of the 20th century when the Capuchin monks reacquired it, had detailed restoration work carried out, and then gave it back to worship.
