IL BORGO MEDIOEVALE TORINESE

In Torino, inside the park of Valentino, stands a very special complex: the reconstruction of a real medieval village, built in 1884 at the Exhibition of the Italian General of Torino. The castle and the courtyard buildings were built according to the royalties of the era so much to deceive the eyes of tourists with its golden authenticity.

The buildings, decorations and furnishings, and copies of over 40 models from Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta, replicate a 15th-century village, preserving the artistic legacy of the fifteenth century in Piemonte (Piedmont) and enhancing, through the workshops, ancient works that would otherwise have been forgotten.

The success was so great that a citizen petition prevented the planned demolition, the complex was thus taken over by the Municipality of Torino, which turned it into a Civic Museum.
